Irem Pansiyon

This older pension was across from the Hotel Status but was much quieter at night because it was in a residential area. The morning was a different story since there was a rooster somewhere in the neighbourhood who wanted to make sure everyone knew the sun was coming up - just doing his job, I guess. Our room was large with lots of wood trim and a large closet cupboard with extra blankets and pillows. The blankets were Turkish made and very warm. We had a double bed and private bathroom with shower. A small balcony outside had room on which to sit & have a drink and there was a small clothesline for laundry. In the lobby was a small lending library and the staff were very friendly. Breakfast (incl. in price) was served in the outdoor courtyard in the front of the pension and included bread, jam, tomatoes, feta, hard boiled eggs and olives - pretty much standard for Turkey. It was about a 5 minute walk to the harbour area where there were lots of restaurants. The area behind and further along from the pension was residential and offered another view into daily life in Fethiye.

It's a new, modern building not far from the harbour with an elevator and white washed halls and ceilings. The hallway had windows that opened at both ends which created a nice cross breeze. Breakfast (feta cheese, bread, olives & tomatoes) was included in the price and served in the breakfast room beside the pool. The rooms are not overly large but are bright with 2 twin beds and a very small but clean bathroom with shower only. We had a small balcony overlooking the pool but it was noisy with people partying there & at the hotel next door until about 3 AM. If you're into nightlife this is a good place but if you want quiet you might want to check out other places. We got a deal on the price because all the construction on the hotel wasn't yet finished - I don't know how much rates would go up when it was completed.
