Marble West Inn

We found this place listed in a book on B&Bs in New England and after checking out their website and checking location on the map and calling the owner we decided to go there for three nights. What a find this place was. There are 6 rooms in an old but well rebuilt colonial house. Each room is of different size and prices vary accordingly. There is a delightful library, a music room and a formal and beautiful dining room where Paul Quinn, the owner serves an extremely well-prepared and daily varying and highly filling breakfast. We had waffles, then banana French toast, and next a light and very tasty quiche. Of course juices, coffee, tea and fruit in various offerings also comes to the table. JoAnne, the general factotum, is a delight to talk with. For the Civil War buffs there is an authentic Sharps Carbine hanging on the wall of the Library. The room itself was modest but adequate in size (the larger ones were already taken) but the bed was very comfortable. There is an A/C in the room and the bathroom is very modern and spacious. Hot water is copious and the herbal soaps pleased my wife.
