If you're looking to travel with a group, this is a great spot to rest your weary head. Rates are very reasonable here, allowing you to save some of your hard-earned money. Bear in mind, however, certain luxuries are sacrificed. When I stayed here with a group of four, we had one room with four beds and a shared bathroom. And flip-flops are highly recommended to give you that 3/4 inch buffer between your pretty little toes and the mysteries of the shower floor.
Besides some of these small detractions, the hotel offers a lounge with TV and movies. Deposit a few guilder into the yellow analogue vending machine, select your drink of choice (you can buy beer through this device), grab that refreshing beverage and sit back in the worn sofa for a good half hour.
If you're tired of the quaint window boxes of tulips and the view of Leidsegracht, delve into the hotel's battered travel journal. I spent three hours with this tome, and it was a hell of a lot better than the nightly movie.
Conveniently located three blocks from Leidseplein, the hotel sits in a quiet neighborhood with plenty of tourist-free local pubs. If you're looking to travel light, both in budget and luggage, then the International Budget Hotel should be your crash pad.
