An excellent five-star/World Class resort -- worth of it's resort of distinction status. The individual unit had a few problems but the resort maintenance was quick to respond to our needs concerning the bathroom (shower was backing up). The two-bedroom/two-bathroom unit was well-laid-out, but the king mattress had a second-rate mattress pad cover that kept shifting through the night and making our sleeping uncomfortable. The resort amenities included two swimming pools and several spas sprinkled through out the grounds. It was geared more for adults and families with older children, but there was a sister resort down the road that offered families with smaller children amenities to their liking. The resort also offered a photography sitting with the option to purchase a package to give photos away. The modest $10 photos (two) were sufficient for us to remember our visit at Sunterra Polynesian Isles.
The resort was centrally located for most attractions and sufficient breakfast and dinner locations to choose from in the area. It was closely located to what I like to call "tacky souvenir boulevard." This is the place you go at the very last minute to bring back those snow globes, key chains, and 20-for-$10 t-shirts from places like Orlando for all your relatives and co-workers. Located not far from the Interstate or toll road, this resort did not leave you in the middle of a tourist congestion, nor did it strand you out in the boonies for transportation. I’m not sure if we would do Orlando again, but if it became a future travel plan, Sunterra Polynesian Isles is the perfect place to stay.
