Largest Redwoods, Green, Green, Green

Even in winter, this park is green because of all the ferns and Evergreen huckleberry plants.

The largest redwoods in the world are in this park. Stout Tree is one of the largest available to see, but there are some even larger in secret locations.

The largest are in the Grove of Titans: location also a secret.

One of the nice trails to see large trees on is Boy Scout Tree Trail.

I go to this park every month of the year - yes, a dozen times per year to hike and camp and explore.

Every person I've met who was in the park on their first visit, was absolutely in awe. It's an aspect of creation that's one of the most peaceful forests in the world.

Campsites, rangers, facilities

Resort Experience:
Pristine redwoods, secluded tent spots, as well as a few pull-throughs for RVs, clean (if old) bathrooms with flush toilets, and coin-operated showers, friendly and knowledgable rangers, beautiful river if it gets hot (which it rarely does), the Stout Grove! Can't imagine being happy anywhere else when I camp. It's worth the 700-mile drive from L.A.
