We were checked in and directed to our executive suite on the 21st floor. It had a small living room with nice dark furniture, fresh flowers, a TV, minibar, and a HUGE bay window. It had its own bathroom off the living room. Then it had big French doors that opened up to the master bedroom. They had a big, huge king-size bed with a pillow-top mattress, down pillows, and a down duvet. That is absolutely the best bed I have ever slept in. I miss the bed; I fell in love with the bed. Hmmmm. It had its own bathroom off the master bathroom, and my only complaint is that after paying that much money, it should have a large Jacuzzi tub, not just a regular little tub. But did I mention the bed!!!! The bedroom also had a HUGE bay window.
We were not on the club level, but we were granted access to the club level because it was our anniversary. So we went down to the 18th floor to the club dining room for their afternoon snacks and tea. It was amazing. They had such a selection of small gourmet choices set out. They had about six or seven different bottles of champagne to choose from.
Then we went down to the pool to swim, and the pool was huge but absolutely freezing, as it was NOT HEATED. The Jacuzzi was great, though, and they had bottled water and fresh oranges out for you.
Later that evening, champagne and chocolate-dipped strawberries arrived at our room. (I reserved the romance package.) We got a rose-petal turndown service. Everything was turned down, a bottle of water left on the nightstand, chocolates on the pillows, and the whole bed covered with soft, fragrant rose petals. How neat!
At 9pm, their last presentation of chocolates and cordials were presented in the club dining room, so we went down for that. It was great. There were more champagne, chocolate dipped strawberries, crème brulee, cookies, and tons of gourmet chocolate deserts. We went back to our room for the evening, now having had all the chocolate and champagne we could stand. The next day, as part of the romance package, we got our breakfast from the café delivered to us in our room. I hated to leave. Everyone treated us so great and always remembered our names; it was like we were royalty for a day. I had a wonderful time.
I wanted to say thank you to Vicky Munoz. Without her, none of this would have been possible, and she made our anniversary great. She really went above and beyond to make sure we had a special experience, and we really did.
