The Murray Hotel is quaint. I thought it would be loud, since it is right on the main street, but it's not. The rooms are medium-sized, and there is a small pool/hot tub.
The perks: They have great packages - they include fudge and other incentives. They are easy to find, and the luggage service took our bags right from the ferry to the hotel, even though it's only a few-hundred-feet walk. The staff is very friendly, and we got a postcard for Christmas!
The downfalls: Your lodging includes a continental breakfast, but it's subpar. There is not a nearby bicycle rack.
From journal Mackinac Island: Relax!
