Silver Lake Resort

Best Things Nearby:
Just a short ride to Disney World attractions (less than 10 minutes by car) also close to other attractions in Central Florida.

Best Things About the Resort:
Large, spacious, and well-appointed rooms. Very clean, fabulous pool (actually four pools converging in the middle for a variety of activities). Great security.

Resort Experience:
We arrived Sunday afternoon and immediately felt comfortable in our spacious accomodations with screened-in porch, two-person whirlpool tub in master bedroom, and large kitchen with all the amenities of home. My only criticism? There were too many MIRRORS! I am not that comfortable looking at a full-length vision of myself in the living room, the dining room, the bedroom, AND the bathroom. There was even a mirrored headboard above my bed so the first thing I glimpsed in the am was a rather unflattering image right in front of my face. Talk about a mug shot!

All in all, we loved the place . . . one other caution: the rooms on the third floor have very high ceilings, which, while they add to the spacious effect, provide an echo which could be annoying at times. We caught Thursday night karaoke at the pool and a real effort was made to provide fun for all. Checkout was as fast as any I've ever experienced.

Best Things Nearby:
This timeshare is locally situated around the majority of the theme parks. You can get to and from them in minutes. Also nearby, there are plenty of restaurants, shows, and lots of shopping to do.

Best Things About the Resort:
This timeshare is immaculately clean, spacious, and beautiful. They have plenty of on-site activities for all ages. At this resort tickets can be purchased to the theme parks. And it offers daily bus service too!

Resort Experience:
I love to frequent this timeshare because it is so family oriented. There is always something to do within walking distance. You can relax by the pool and place food/drink orders by the cabana. There's a game room, tennis courts, basketball courts, fishing by the lake, and movie theatre. The kids have adult-supervised activities all day. We go to theme parks every other day in order to enjoy the resort. Our favorite theme park is Sea World, which offers shows and rides. Another must is "Discovery Cove," where you get to swim with the fish, dolphins, and rays. There is also a bird atrium where you get to hand-feed the tropical birds. Book at least 60 days in advance for this all-inclusive day (food, snorkeling gear, etc.).

Best Things Nearby:
The resort is close to many attractions. Disney World is very close. You can see the Tree of Life at Animal Kingdom from the resort.

Best Things About the Resort:
The rooms were spacious, with plenty of room for three kids to run and play. The pool was huge. Having a washer and dryer in the unit was very nice.

Resort Experience:
It is very quiet. Big rooms. The balcony was very nice. The golf simulator was fun and it was nice having a movie theater on the grounds.

Best Things Nearby:
You could see Animal Kingdom from our resort. The I-192 was within walking distance, yet we were off the beaten track. WDW was an easy drive.

Best Things About the Resort:
Our unit had been recently renovated with a new tile flooring. The resort seemed mostly populated with those over 60, so it was pretty quiet.

Resort Experience:
The kitchen was spacious and well equipped. The rooms were large. There was a little bar sink and mirror and cupboard in the living room -- we used this as our sunscreen station -- lathering it on each morning before leaving. It was great to have a washer and dryer in our unit. I also enjoyed our screened balcony -- it was totally quiet, facing onto empty field.

The activities did leave something to be desired. There was one welcome evening with bands playing and an Elvis impersonator, which was entertaining, however the munchies were definitely lacking in inspiration.

Best Things Nearby:
This resort is right on Route 192. Take it east and you will see the entrance to WDW within 5 min. and then I-4 just after that. There are two Dinner theaters near by that our children absolutely loved. Medival Times and Arabian Nights. Both highly recommended after a hard day of park hopping.

Best Things About the Resort:
Our condo was spacious beyond our wildest dreams. The master bedroom had a king-size bed and a giant bath complete with a large Jacuzzi. My wife and I could lock that master bedroom door and have a mini vacation while the kids were watching TV and eating popcorn. There was a den with a large screen TV and VCR. The kitchen was fully stocked with essentials down to the electric can opener. The pool was perfect for our children. Depths from 3'6" to 4'6" and lots of space was a real hit with them. It is really a children friendly place.

Resort Experience:
Silver Lake is a small resort. A centrally located clubhouse and cabana surround the large clover leaf shaped pool. Our condo was one of the furthest away from the pool and it was only a few minutes walk. My children quickly made new friends and had a wonderful time. I was pleased with the way the staff dealt with our questions and helped the kids. This was our first timeshare exchange and it exceeded my expectations. I toured several other resorts in the area and they are all very beautiful, but I think Silver Lake best suited our family because of its smaller size.
