Best Things Nearby:
Mandredonia is the southernmost point in the Gargano Peninsula, so you can start form here to visit the most beautiful coast of northern Puglia, which includes town like Vieste, Peschici, Mattinata, and all the unspoilt, marvelous beaches in the national park of Gargano.

You can also visit the Tremiti Islands, reachable by ferries in 40 minutes.

Best Things About the Resort:
The resort has three restaurants:

Ristorante Pizzeria Gabbiano for lunch with self-service and takeaway service from 1 to 2:30pm and dinner from 8 to 11pm
Ristorante Arione Hotel for breakfast in the morning from 8 to 10am, lunch from 12:30 to 2pm, and dinner from 8 to 9:30pm
Ristorante Albatros Villaggio for breakfast from 8 to 10am, lunch from 12:30 to 2pm, and dinner from 8 to 9:30pm

There is a weekly change of towels and bed linens every Friday. You have just to leave all of them outside the unit, and then you will find the clean one in unit. For a charge, you can have a daily change.

There is a very good live entertainment in the village during the day and at night. Perhaps it last too late in the night if you are used to sleeping around midnight.

Resort Experience:
The African Beach Village lies between Barletta and Mandredonia, in the area known as Ippocampo. It's really a village, where you find the RCI resort divided in timeshare units, rentals, ownerships, and a hotel. Nearby and just out of the village, there are private houses surrounded by green fields, other hotels, and touristy villages. If you want, you can spend the whole vacation inside the village, because everything you are you searching for is inside it.

The village is made of bungalows built in the typical African style. I had a one-bedroom unit, quite a big unit if you think about the size of a normal bungalow. At the entrance, you have the dining room together with a well-equipped kitchen. There is a bedroom divided from the dining room by a mobile wall. And there's a private bathroom, a large one. I don’t know if my unit was a superior bungalow, but I even had air-conditioning, which was important because outside the temperature was very high. In front of your door, you have a space, if you want to have lunch outside the unit, equipped with a table and two chairs.

The only thing that didn't work was the TV, because it was via satellite and they told me that when too many people are watching TV at the same time, it doesn't work properly. There is a quite expensive Compulsory Club Card for about 35€ per person mid-season that rises to 40€ during high season. It includes beach service, one beach umbrella and two chairs per unit. It can be paid for with credit card, too. Within the resort, you do not have to use money because you receive a plastic card on which everything you buy is charged.

Mosquito spray is advisable in this area, and at night, it's better to keep windows closed and air-conditioning on.
