Parador Tortosa

Parador Tortosa

You will feel like royalty in this government-run parador. And with reason, since this castle was built in the fifth century and has more history than many of the books we read in school! This parador sits on top of a mountain in the middle of the city. Each room has its own balcony overlooking the city. I could make up my mind on whether the view from our room was more spectacular in the morning or at night. This four-star hotel has excellent service, superbly decorated and the architecture . . . well, that of a fortress reminiscent of that time.

If you are under 30 or over 60 you can request special discounts. Other discounts include 5-day passes in which you can stay at up to five different paradores around the country for a discount.

This was the first of five different paradores we stayed at. This hotel was very romantic and rich in history. Unfortunately we were so amused by the parador that we decided to spend the entire time there and neglected to visit any other parts of the town. You won't be able to find a better deal for the price!
