Boca de Tomatlan, Mexico

The Hotel Maria Teresa is a three-story structure built around a gated parking area. There is a small nightclub that only opens during Christmas and Easter vacations, and a cute restaurant set under a palapa that opens daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. A swimming pool runs along the side of the hotel. There is also a kiddie pool. Both were very clean. There is a grassy area, behind the pool, which is small, but well tended and peaceful.
We were given a double room on the ground floor for 550 pesos. The room was very clean. There were two double beds separated by a nightstand and a dresser/desk. There was cable TV, an air conditioner with a remote control, and a telephone.
The bathroom was very clean and, though not large, was quite comfortable. The shower had decent pressure and a lot of hot water.
We ate dinner at the on site restaurant. The food, mostly Mexican antojitos, was pretty good. The waiter was friendly and very eager to please. The cook came out to see if everything had been to our liking. The next morning we had breakfast here. WOW! It was great. The cook had a magic touch as far as eggs go. The service was as good as the night before.
The air conditioner worked beautifully -- we fell asleep with it on high and woke up an hour later freezing to death. After turning it down, we slept soundly. The beds were comfortable and the room was very quiet.
I think this is the most comfortable hotel in town and recommend it. If you are staying somewhere else, I definitely recommend that you come here for breakfast.
Although I cannot give exact directions, the hotel is easy to find. The town is very small and the hotel is white, shocking pink, and bright blue. It is two or three blocks in from the beach. You can’t miss it.
