A $68 double bed and breakfast.
This would have to be the bargain accommodation option in Launceston. The motel operates more like a bed and breakfast establishment. There are only six rooms, all have en-suite bathrooms and breakfast is served to the room.
The building is not new but the rooms are clean, airy and well-equipped. Our room was carpeted and had a TV, radio, and tea and coffee making facilities. The bed had an electric blanket and an electric oil heater provided heat for the room.
While it is night right in the central city, the location is good. You can walk to the Mall in seven minutes and the Penny Royal complex is about the same distance. For bowlers, it is situated adjacent to the nice green of the South Launceston Bowls Club. There is courtyard parking for cars. Several restaurants are within a couple of minutes walking distance.
Breakfast was a surprise. The pleasant owner brings it to the room. We had fruit juice, cereal, fruit, toast, raison toast, coffee and hot chocolate. On the side of the tray was the morning paper. Certainly a great way to start the day.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and returned to stay the following week before we left Tasmania via Launceston airport.
