We spent two nights here and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location is quiet, central, and very convenient. We stayed in the Huon Room, which overlooks Macquiarie Harbour. This was ideal for a couple and the Huon pine furnishings were distinctive and practical. We found the homely environment attractive and the level access a benefit for carrying gear from the car.
The unit was similar in many respects to a motel room. The bed had an electric blanket, which was necessary at night, and there was also an electric oil heater. The mini-kitchen had a sink, a refrigerator, a small hot plate, a microwave, an electric jug and a toaster. Pots and pans, cutlery and crockery were provided. The owners had provided tea, coffee, sugar, salt, pepper and washing liquid.
Owners, Bob and Brenda Inglis greeted us when we arrived and provided us with some local information. They telephoned to check on availability of cruises and generally were very helpful. They managed to tread that fine line between being friendly and being intrusive. When we were leaving they suggested things to do on the way to our next destination and even had a suggestion for accommodation when we arrived there. We would return.
