The three suites of Prairie Moon Bed and Breakfast are combinations of living, dining, bed, bath, and kitchen plus you have your own front porch or sun deck. Each suite will accommodate four, with a king or queen bed. Every suite has its own phone line, CD player, two TVs, VCR, plus an extensive video library. Breakfast, which in our case consisted of a ham and cheese quiche or pizza, is placed in the kitchen’s refrigerator the day before and you heat it the next morning in the microwave. We liked this type of private setting since we didn’t have to get up early in order to get breakfast.
The Prairie Moon has only three suites, but we didn’t have any problems getting short notice reservations. It is a renovated historic prairie house. Each suite has its own private bath, which was adequate but we would have liked more places in there to place our toiletry items and clothes. There simply wasn't enough places to put things.
Rates are $90-$120 and they take all major credit cards as well as personal checks. They are open year-round with check-in at 4pm and checkout at 11am. No pets are allowed, no smoking, and only well-behaved older children are welcome.
What’s unusual is that all the suites offer fax, email, and computers (on request) as well as private phone lines, plus two TVs and a VCR. The kitchens have refrigerator, microwave, tea, and coffee maker.
