Blue Skies Inn

Along the way I got the chance to stay at a very unique B&B called "Blue Skies" in the heart of Manitou Springs, Colorado. This is a boutique hotel that will not soon be forgotten. Located at the foot of the Rocky Mountains and Pikes Peak, next to Colorado Springs.

The heart and soul of "Blue Skies Inn" is the 10 rooms that will delight the senses in color, design, warmth and charm, expertly created by the talents of the owner.

My room, the Starlight, represented the stars, galaxies and comets of the heavens. A silver canopy was over the brass bed. A wonderful blue tile fireplace was located in the corner. Breakfast is brought to the room and left outside of the door in a basket. A secret garden is available for outdoor dining when weather permits. Breakfast might have to be shared with the deer that roam in and out at will.

The guest "welcome corner" has a coffeemaker, microwave popcorn, herb tea, spiced cider, and Hershey's French Vanilla hot cocoa.

Each of the 10 guest rooms is decorated in a different theme. The Deep Blue room has hand painted, brightly colored tropical fish swimming in a tile mural. The Midnight Woods room has hundreds of stenciled ferns on the wall. There is a room for Southwest lovers where cave paintings were recreated on the wall. The color theme is warm apricot and pale sandstone shades there. This room is handicapped accessible.

A stay in this boutique hotel is not easily forgotten.
