Description: 'A' Class houseboat on Dal Lake. The inside looks like a maharaja's palace. The family who runs it is the real reason to stay here, though. You cannot find nicer, warmer, more friendly people than the Khuroo family. *Unconditionally* recommended.
Update: I first stayed here in 1997, and came back again in 2005. It was wonderful once again. They really make you feel like part of the family, and the whole area is very safe. The houseboat has undergone renovations and is even more comfortable than before. And the food is even more fantastic than ever before, as they have added delicious, gourmet Nepalese and Chinese cuisine to augment their Italian, Indian, and of course Kashmiri cuisines and dishes. This is one of those places that you stay at in which you say to yourself: I don't ever want to leave.
