The house is two stories, with all three guest rooms on the first floor. To get to two of the guest rooms, you enter through a very small courtyard. We stayed in the Ingenue Room, which, while not that large, was extremely clean, with a queen-size bed and an attached bathroom (shower/tub combo) that had lots of towels and storage space for our luggage. For our use in the room, we had a microwave, cable TV, and a well-stocked fridge with coffee and juice. Fresh muffins, Danishes, and fruit were delivered every day.
Karen, the owner/hostess, was great and thought of a lot of the little touches. For instance, since it was Valentine's Day week, she had a dozen roses waiting in the room upon our arrival. Also, she was very knowledgeable about not only the immediate area, but the city as well. We checked out a great little place to eat, Le Penniche, that she recommended, and we were not disappointed.
The house is located in the Lower Quarter (across Esplande Avenue) or the historic Faubourg Marigny, which is only a block or two from the Quarter. There were several well-known restaurants (Santa Fe, Snug Harbour, and Port of Call) within a few blocks. We felt that the area was very safe and had no problems walking back at 11pm from a night of great jazz and food at Snug Harbour.
