We were lucky enough to stay in one of their deluxe guest rooms, which was beautiful, but I hear that their larger suites are beyond imagination (and my price range)! The room we stayed in had a lovely little sitting area and two queen-size beds. The room was around 500 square feet, so it was nice and roomy for us and the two children.

On site, there is a wonderful spa that encompasses a whirlpool hot tub, sauna, and fitness centre. There is an outdoor tennis court and outdoor heated pool. The golf course on site has apparently won awards (or so I am told). We liked the fact that during the summer there are scheduled children's activities, like arts and crafts, swimming, and campouts. There is also a playground on site and it is within walking distance to downtown St. Andrews. If you want to be more adventurous as well, they rent bikes on site for $10/hr or $35 per half day.

This is a beautiful hotel, and we've stayed there every summer since I was tiny. The hotel was bought out by the Fairmont five or six years ago. Everyone was afraid the hotel would go downhill, since it was no longer locally-owned, but just the opposite happened. I think they kept almost all of the staff (which is a huge part of what made the hotel great) and improved the grounds. The hotel has a heated outdoor pool, tennis courts, and a great playground for the kids. They also have four restaurants. There are beautiful gardens, and an 18 hole golf course. They also have a spa on site, a full gym, indoor sauna, and jacuzzi, as well as the outdoor pool. The spa is very reasonably priced, and costs about the same as a salon in town. Manicures are C$3, and massages are C$55. The hotel is munchkin-friendly, but I have yet to run into one who didn't know how to behave themselves; so even though there are kids around, you don't get the noise and the screeching. This is probably somewhere I will continue to go back to every summmer, because every summer, I look forward to it more and more.
