Bluegreen Mountain Run at Boyne

Our accomodations were equivilent to a 1 bedroom studio. There was a full bath, queen sleeper sofa, partial kitchen. There was no oven but a microwave, and flattop range and full sized refrigerator with icemaker. All of the kitchen amenities you would need: pots, pans, dishes, serving dishes. mixing bowls, blender, and toaster. There was a gas fireplace in teh room that operated by timer. This was my favorite. There was a TV and DVD player in the living room and a radio and TV in the bedroom.

Best Things Nearby:
Deer Lake, Avalanche Run indoor water park, bike trails down the mountain (ski lift gets you to top), city of Charlevoix, city of Petosky, city of Harbor Springs

Best Things About the Resort:
1) The Rooms were up to date and clean.
2) The staff was very helpful and quick to handle any issues we had.
3) Scenery is beautiful and peaceful.
4) Discounts on golf (two 18-hole courses on the grounds) and the Avalanche Run water park.
5) Deer Lake is great although the beach area is small.
6) Short distance (20 Miles or less) to popular towns (Petosky, Charlevoix).
7) The pool has a walk-in slope that allows babies and toddlers to sit and play without having to be held.

Resort Experience:
The Mountain Run timeshares are modern looking with nice colors on the walls, very well kept, and have adequate space (two-bedroom units) to sleep two couples. The surrounding area is kept clean and trim as well.

Access to the main resort area is about a 1/4 mile and is easily accessible via walking or biking on a paved, low volume street or an easy cross-country bike trail. The main resort is where the restaurants and the indoor water park are located.

Best Things Nearby:

My favorite thing is the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, about 86 miles away. There is also Petoskey, the cross in the woods (near Indian River), Traverse City, the Cherry Street Market in Kalkaska, and just the resort itself.

Best Things About the Resort:

It is very clean and quite new, the people are friendly, the scenery is great, and it is in a good location.

Resort Experience:
All units have a fireplace and the one-bedroom is plenty big for a couple. Everything is in excellent condition. The pool is very nice and the hot tub is inside but has patio doors on two sides, so if the weather is warm, they can be left open to the pool. One of the ski hills is right behind the resort. It is a nice walk to the Boyne Mountain Resort and worth the walk. We were told that as members, we could use the facilities there as well.

Best Things Nearby:
We enjoyed visiting the small lake and beach on the property, as well as the fantastic indoor water park. The Petosky State Park Beach was super, and we even found a world-famous Petosky Stone.

Best Things About the Resort:
The three-bedroom lock-off unit worked out well for the eight of us (four adults and four kids), and the staff was super.

Resort Experience:
The condo was nicely decorated and clean, with all the amenities you learn to expect with Bluegreen resorts. The only drawback was the lighting in the bedrooms, and that it was smaller than others I've stayed in at Bluegreen resorts. Though we visited in the summer, I could see this being a wonderful winter resort for those who like snow and skiing.
