This beautiful Victorian era home was built in 1889 for a local millionaire and sits on a hilltop, offering great views of Bellingham Bay and the historic Fairhaven district. The one elegantly decorated guest room/suite features a 10 foot tall Renaissance Revival bed as well as a private bathroom with hairdryer and thick terrycloth robes. The room is in the back of the house and has access to the beautifully manicured gardens. Although smoking is not permitted indoors, there is a special smoking area outside.

If you''re lucky, Edward Davidson, the owner will take you on a tour of the rest of this fabulous mansion filled with stained glass, antique furniture and exquisite art.

The B&B is "adult only" and doesn''t accommodate pets since there are a couple of resident cats who have staked out their territory.

The room has a fully stocked kitchenette with microwave and fridge. Breakfast includes fresh fruit, cereals, muffins, coffee and tea.

Prices start at $175.00 per night. You can check out their web site at Castle Gate House
