Central YHA

I''m not normally a big fan of YHA hostels, as there are usually more expensive and less homely than smaller independent hostels, but even I have to admit that the Darwin YHA is pretty cool. It''s not small by any stretch of the imagination, but it has everything.

Recently rebuilt it has the feel of a hotel (OK except for the 8 beds to a room!). For those sun-drenched days (Dry season) you have the choice of cooling off in the pool or topping up your tan on the sun-deck (don''t forget to slip slop slap).

The kitchen is well-equipped to handle the crowds and you can breakfast, lunch and dinner on an open-air veranda overlooking the pool area. Reception is 24-hour and you can even book your onward travel (domestic or international) from the in-house travel agent.
