It is a good ten-minute walk into town from the inn with houses and churches along the way that look like they wandered out of a Rockwell canvas. After dinner in town we strolled back to the inn and ordered a drink in the tiny in house bar fondly called Duffy’s Pub. And with our drinks wandered out back to sit in the two seated swing that overlooked the Japanese koi pond. Finally we started to relax! Now it was time to try the whirlpool tub in our room and become jello.
It began to pour outside and we were snug inside our room with the fire going and a fantastic red wine. It was sheer bliss. I didn’t think it could get any better but my boyfriend was plotting something more and in front of the fire he pulled out a drop dead sapphire engagement ring and recited a poem he had written and said those four words I was hoping to hear. The answer was a resounding YES! Made all the more memorable by the romantic surround.
If you need a place to hole up for some romance, rest and relaxation and a good breakfast to set you up for your adventures in the Berkshires this place is a wonderful choice.
