This is my favorite place to stay when visiting this area along the Red River. It is a friendly, clean, and secure hotel that allows my poodle ($30 per stay fee). I enjoy the 30 item breakfast bar in the mornings. The lady who keeps that going is really the hostess of this hotel, and is friendly and kind. I prefer to book the slightly larger executive rooms, which have a microwave and mini fridge with a slightly better bathroom set up. There are only three in this old style Hampton Inn, so reserve them ahead. This is a very busy place, often when the other motels in the area have empty parking lots. Why? Well, I feel it is the security that is offered by the layout of the inn as all rooms face inside hallways and are not open to the outside. Well, security and the hospitality of the employees! On many return visits I always feel welcome. By big city standards, the rooms are very basic--but think of where you are. This isn't Dallas, nor are these Dallas prices!
There are several chain restaurants handy. Very close to Sheppard Air Force Base and Lucy Park. Not far from Midwestern State University. My poodle highly approves of this Hampton Inn.
They can arrange for privileges at a nearby health club and have a pool open May 15 to Sept 15. No cocktail lounge or restaurant, but free coffee and tea are available all day and night. This is a Hilton family hotel so you can get both Hilton points and frequent flyer miles on a choice of several airlines. They post fast!
