My Family and I used to camp here at this Koa several times a year. It used to be affordable we stayed in the 2-room cabins on the river it was nice and the view was breathtaking but they started going up on the prices ever year and now the only time we can afford to go is in the off season, the off season price is what the in season price used to be a 2room cabin on the river for 100 or so a night with no bathroom or kitchen so we started going to yogis a cabin that sleeps 6 no matter what the age is the price is 100 a night with bathroom shower kitchen they offer a lot more for the buck. But i wish KOA would understand the working man with a family.

A Campground in Cherokee, NC

My daughter was at this campground on a Church Mission Trip. The church arranged to rent the campground. This Mission Trip ministered to the Cherokee Indians in the area. This campground provided a Kitchen and Dining Room so the mission trip could fix and serve their meals. There was a huge swimming pool next to the Dining Room. The cabins slept twelve but were tiny--hardly big enough to move around in. But--most of the time the mission participants were away from the cabin.

If you have a large group, want a cheap price for accommodations, need to cook to feed a large group at a reasonable price--this type of cabin is perfect. And it is next to a creek--you can go creek wading.

Prices are different for tents, campers, and Kamping Kabins. During peak season, a full hookup is about $45 a night. It is a great place for the family. There are 2 playgrounds, a vollyball court, a tennis court, swimming pool and game room. Two movies are also shown nightly. There are many things to do outside Cherokee also that can be arranged at the office. Busses take groups to the casino, to white water rafting, Smoky Mountain Railway, ect... There are also fishing ponds and a river for those that love to fish. It is surrounded by beautiful mountains. It is the perfect getaway. For more of what they offer, visit link

From journal There is more there than a casino
