Moon Palace

Best Things Nearby:
Close to airport. Resort is actually like a city in itself and not really close to anything.

Best Things About the Resort:
Great service, pools, restaurants, activities.

Resort Experience:
Came back from a week in Cancun and enjoyed my first trip there. The resort has everything on site, and other than a trip for a jeep tour, we never left the grounds. There are 10 restaurants, numerous bars, disco, catamarans, sailboats and kayaks. The pools are fantastic and there are also swim up bars. This is an all inclusive resort, so no worries about bringing your wallet every time you want to do something. Had a great time and recommend it to anyone interested in a week of relaxing and playing in Cancun.

Best Things Nearby:
There is a free shuttle to take you to downtown Cancun. There, you can see anything and everything. We especially like the flea market, bargaining places really. There are tons of fun clubs and beaches. With the Palace Resorts, you can go to any and all of them. They will arrange tours for you to do anything you want.

Best Things About the Resort:
There is a beach and the Moon Sunrise is right next to the Moon Palace. You can walk along the beach and go to the other Palace, or hop a free shuttle and go to the Beach or Cancun Palace downtown. With your wristband you can do the activities of all them, or eat at all of them. The wedding ceremony's they perform at the Moon Sunrise are absolutely gorgeous. My brother got married here and the pictures are like something you see in a movie and can't believe they are real. When you walk into the reservation area of the Moon Sunrise, it is like walking into a mall. Marble floors, just goreous. They are very helpful here and especially clean. We love it!

Resort Experience:
They have activities going on all day. You really do not need to leave this resort. If you want, take the free shuttle downtown, but they have a disco type bar, and tons for both kids and adults to do. They even have a babysitting service at the Moon Palace right next door. I can't say enough about the Moon Sunrise. The food is great, the pool area especially clean, they grill out, bring you drinks, you can parasail right from the beach, take a scuba lesson which starts in the pool, and book tours which leave from the pier. It is just wonderful, and all of our friends that go there enjoy it as much as we do. We love the Presidential Suites, as they will bring you a wonderful breakfast, lunch, or supper. Order bottles of alcohol for you room, the Presidential Suites are like condos, with a beautiful deck overlooking the ocean. My favorite thing to do is get up, make my coffee, sit on the deck, and just relax. What a way to start a morning!!!

Moon Palace

Best Things Nearby:
We were able to use the other Palace resort's beaches. The beach at the Moon Palace isn't the best, but the Beach/Cancun Palaces's beaches more than make up for it.

Best Things About the Resort:
Friendly staff, very clean accommodations, extremely large pools, swim-up bars, nightly entertainment, and the restaurant choices

Resort Experience:
This place is amazing! It's so large, there are two lobbies, the Sunrise and the Nizuc lobbies. You need to take the shuttle to get from one to the other. There are so many restaurants to choose from: seafood, Italian, Asian, international buffet. And the drinks keep coming! The fridge was restocked every day with water, beer, and soda. Plus the liquor dispensers on the wall were an unusual benefit! The service was outstanding! Even though the gratuities are included in the all-inclusive price, we still tipped a little extra every day. The staff not only appreciates it, but they remember you and give you an even higher level of service, if that's possible. This is an outstanding resort that's away from the Hotel Zone, where you can find peace and quiet or a music/dance party somewhere within.

Best Things Nearby:
The best things nearby are the Hotel Zone, Xcaret, and Chichen-Itza. The Hotel Zone, which can be reached by a free shuttle provided by Moon Palace or by taxi, is full of things to do. There is plenty of shopping at many indoor/outdoor malls, including La Isla and Forum by the Sea.

If nightlife is your thing, you'll find plenty of it here, with great nightclubs, restaurants, and bars everywhere.

Xcaret is a spectacular ecological park south of Cancun. Most people book an excursion to this site through their hotel or online, which generally includes round-trip transportation and admission. This place is absoluetly amazing. You can relax on the pristine beaches under a palapa, swim with the dolphins, venture through the Underground River (a must-do activity), snorkel with tropical fish, or see many animals, such as pumas and manatees, in their natural habitat. The evening show is unbelievable. Stick around for it.

Chichen-Itza is the spectacular Mayan ruin with the famous Pyramid of Kukulkan. One word describes this place: amazing.

Best Things About the Resort:
The best things about this resort are the all-inclusive plan, the free excursions, the many restaurants and bars, the friendly and accommodating staff, all the activities, the entertainment, and the bar and Jacuzzi in the rooms.

Resort Experience:
This resort is fabulous. The rooms were well appointed and very clean. The shower is awesome. It has a marble bench to sit on, so it kind of doubles as a sauna. My favorite parts of the room included the fully stocked refrigerator full of water, soda, and beer (which is restocked every day), the bar that had four liquor dispensers (all drinks are part of the all-inclusive), and the two-person Jacuzzi. I also enjoyed the hammock on our terrace and the beautiful view of the ocean.

The huge interconnecting pools are incredible. I loved the swim-up bars. The all-inclusive plan covers all recreation, including bicycles, rollerblades, non-motorized water sports, billiards, basketball, tennis, the gyms, miniature golf, nightly theme shows, the club, and all food and drinks from their many bars and restaurants. You can also choose two free excursions, including round-trip transportation and admission to Chichen-Itza, Chichen-Itza Light & Sound, Xpu-Ha/Tulum, Isla Mujeres, Coba, or Ek-Balam/Valladolid. You can golf at the new Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf or pamper yourself at the Moon Spa (extra fee). For those with children, there's a kids club full of activities. You can also paint ceramics or have your hair braided. My family enjoyed lying by the pool painting clay candle holders. Another great thing is that the Palace Resorts have four properties in Cancun. Your all-inclusive plan extends to the other three resorts, so if you’re in the Hotel Cone, you can eat, drink, and play for free in any of Palace Resorts' properties.

The staff is great. We became friends with a diving instructor, some of the bartenders, and a hostess. They were really fun. I loved how they greeted us with champagne when we arrived. This place is just simply incredible.
