The Cloister

The accommodations were everything a five star resort is supposed to be. The room fees included all meals, the Beach Club facilities, lawn sports, and live music and dancing. The thing is, The Cloister is not only beautiful, but offers so much in the way of extra amenities. You have to pay extra, and the price is not cheap, but you can participate in a variety of outdoor activities and schools to include bicycling, shooting, golf, tennis, fishing, and spa activities. The staff is well-trained, and in spite of having to care for many different demands from a diverse guest population, it always manages to come through as expected. If money is no object and you want a place to be extremely active or just to rest in a very posh atmosphere, The Cloister is the place for you. The flowers were still in bloom and the grounds were a nature lover''s delight. There is no drink that cannot be had at any of the multiple bars. I just wish I had been able to take my wife to this lovely place on our honeymoon so many years ago.

The resort is ranked one of the best in the world and it truly is. I was lucky enough to be able to spend a weekend here. We stayed in the Hamilton House area of the resort, which is on the beach. Most of the rooms are not in the main building; these rooms can be regular guestrooms to family rooms. The resort offers just about everything including private beach, tennis, a spa to die for, fishing, boating, even a Shooting school and horseback riding. The price of the accommodations include 3 meals a day in any of their restaurants. You decide! There are flowers and plants everywhere. The colors are stunning against the blue sky.
