Best Things Nearby:
Elk Mountain Ski Resort
Antique Stores
Shopping in Scranton
Gourmet restaurant adjacent to resort

Best Things About the Resort:
Quiet atmosphere (Warning: It may be TOO quiet for many vacationers! I liked it.)
Spacious units

Resort Experience:
I reserved a week at this resort for 3 hearty shopping friends and myself. Because it was located halfway between Scranton, Pa. and Binghamton, N.Y.(both places where we often shop), this was perfect for our purposes. Although primarily a ski resort for the winter months, we were there in July when swimming (indoors) and horseback riding were available. Although somewhat dated, the units were clean and spacious. We were in a 2 BR, 2 1/2 BATH townhouse on 2 levels. We loved the feeling of privacy this afforded us. Management was very pleasant and eager to assist. If you're looking for an action-packed resort with non-stop activity, this is definitely NOT the place for you! A car is a MUST. If you're not afraid to drive a few miles to sights, you may want to consider the peace and quiet of Endless Mountain.

Best Things Nearby:
We pulled in the parking lot and never left.

Best Things About the Resort:
Having the horses onsite made our vacation. The beautiful fish pond loaded with turtles, frogs and fish was spectacular.

Resort Experience:
We decided that on this vacation we would spend our money on horseback riding and not restaurants. We shopped before we arrived and ate in our unit for all meals except the Wednesday gathering cookout. Happily, it was not a timeshare selling push. We met families and munched on potluck and grilled foods.

The building are a rustic style. The indoor pool was delightful. In the same building was the laundry room and game room. There is a restaurant right next door, not owned or managed by the resort. I met the owners at the picnic, they were friendly. I heard from other guests that he restaurant was very good.

The two-bedroom unit was two stories. The bedrooms and two baths were on the bottom floor and the kitchen, half bath, and living room were above. There was a large master bath with not only a jacuzzi, but also a sauna. Talk about relaxing.

The furniture and appliances were worn, but not too bad. There was a wood stove, which we didn't need in June. There was a small patio off of both the upstairs and downstairs. The beds were large and comfortable. Check out the website here.

I am guessing on the price of the rooms. The unit was a two story. Bedrooms were downstairs, each with its own bathroom and shower. There was also a sauna and a Jacuzzi. There was a TV in only one bedroom. The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of room to store clothing.

The upstairs had a good size living area with a TV and VCR. A wood stove for the winter. There was also a half bath next to the kitchen. The deck was nice, but no chairs on it. The kitchen supplies were fair. Some were broken or damaged. However, they were happily replaced by the office.

Laughing Gecko - a place to stay in Krabi

The Laughing Gecko was my favorite lodging during my trip. It's a family-run place that is very cozy and a true home-away-from-home experience. The couple that operates the bungalows are very sweet people. There is a communal hall area, where you can dine or simply hang out and chat with other travelers. The bungalows are traditional Thai style huts, with a camp feel to it. If you are looking for budget accomodations with warm hospitality and an organic experience, this is the place.
