Otesaga

The hotel is nearly 200 years old. The rooms are quaint, but comfortable. The food is exceptional. The meals are included in the room rate. The beds are extremely comfortable. There is a midmorning snack of coffee, tea, danish, donuts, and muffins set out for the guests. Afternoon brings tea and cookies to be enjoyed while you rock on the veranda watching the sailboats on Lake Otesaga.

We were upgraded to a superior room and it was excellent. Very spacious and the view of the lake was very nice. One of my favorite things of The Otesaga is the Lakeside Veranda. Here you can overlook the pool or Ostego Lake.
The service and personnel at the resort are 5 star!

The Otesaga

The building was originally built in 1909 and much of the interior and artwork is original. There are 136 guest rooms including Premium, Superior, and Standard rooms, as well as regular and deluxe suites. All are furnished with period pieces and each is beautifully decorated.
In addition to the championship Leatherstocking Golf Course, The Otesaga offers guests both pool and lake swimming. Canoe rentals are available. The Lake is one of the finest fishing areas in Central New York. Jogging and biking trails lead to the village of Cooperstown and also along the eastern side of the Lake. Tennis can be played on all-weather courts throughout the day.
Morning coffee on the Lakeside Veranda watching the morning sun as its rises over the eastern hillside and illuminate the mirror surface of Lake Otsego is an experience one won't soon forget. Each afternoon, tea service is accompanied by piano music in the Main Lobby. The evening dinner service in the Main Dining Room is complemented by the Michael Carney Trio. On selected summer evenings The Otesaga presents the Cooperstown Village Band on the Lakeside Lawn. Members of the Young American Artists with the Glimmerglass Opera perform weekly in The Otesaga's Ballroom during the Opera season. Music for listening and dancing by the Michael Carney in the Lounge.
The Otesaga's Game Room in the Lower Lobby is open for both adults and children throughout the day and evening. It offers a variety of traditional games and activities as well as newer video challenges.
