Great "Island Nights" with local talent at different nearby hotels each night. Great food throughout the islands. Go to Rarotongan Resort down the road to find beautiful deep blue starfish.Terrific snorkeling.
Best Things About the Resort:
Nick, the owner, is a highly educated horticulturist and this love of exotic plants is reflected in the beautiful landscaping. On arrival we received beautiful 'eis' and were astounded to see the lovely arrangements of flowers on every piece of furniture--the sofa, bed, kitchen counters, tables.
The poolside breakfast is included and it is delightful to meet other guests to exchange experiences and ideas.
Resort Experience:
The unit has a large patio or lanai across the master bedroom and the living room. The jalousy doors open across the entire walls and you require NO screens. The patio affords total privacy with outrageous views of the lovely lagoon and ocean breaking on the reef. The poolside bar provides complimentary breakfast and is available later for drinks, etc.
We rented our own jeep but there is public transportation. Snorkeling is terrific at nearby sites. Nick and his staff are extremely helpful making all arrangements for deep sea fishing--go with Fishers on the homemade outrigger. Even if you don't catch anything you will have a tale and lots of fun pictures). He also helped with all other reservations. See the island shows at Edgewater and Rarotongan Resorts. We went to eight island shows at different places on Rarotonga and Aituataki in 11 days! Never disappointed once! Relax and smile a lot. All the best of very local food and entertainment.
