We loved the Muri Beachcomber! Our end unit was a one-story duplex in a garden setting. There are beautiful tropical plants with chickens and roosters running around. There are also water villas with a water garden, and a pool (which we never used. We had an end unit closest to the beach. It's right on a lagoon, with a reef further out. At night, the sound of the waves crashing on the reef is very audible in the end unit and wonderful.
The people are friendly and helpful. They have a wonderful orange-mango juice that is in the fridge upon arrival and they sell more at the office. We loved it. There are two stores within walking distance where we bought basics and a BBQ on the lawn area in front of the units. We left for three days to go to Aitutaki. We were going to store most of our luggage in a locked room at the office and then change units when we returned. Before we left, the manager told us they weren't full and for us to leave everything in the closets, drawers, and fridge, and just take the key with us. We weren't charged and when we returned after dark several days later, we just returned to our unit. It was great!
Our unit had a large bedroom with a king bed, nice-sized living room with sofa sleeper, nice kitchen and bathroom. We had a patio out front and the beach was only steps from the front door. The bus stop is right out front for those that don't want to rent a car or scooter. We'll definitely return!
