My guests were surprised at how well furnished and modern the accommodations were. You may assume it is rather rustic, because cottages have a log home style, but they are all modern and well appointed and kept very clean. Furniture and decorating style maintain a country home feel to provide warmth and comfort.
There isn't a lot to do immediately outside the resort. You are about 20 minutes from outlet stores or antiques. Major tourist attractions in the White Mountains are about an hour away.
We usually stay inside the resort the whole time, cooking all our meals on site. There are a few casual restaurants we like in nearby Hillsborough: The Sampan , a Chinese restaurant, plus High Tide Take Out , a seasonal family-style grill with outdoor eating.
We keep busy. Time goes by fast. There is always something for the kids to do. Most of the times, the kids make friends with other guests at the shared beach front. There is also a children's activity program, but we've never used it.
It's fun, casual, homey, and family-oriented.
