The first thing we did when we hit the campsites was look for "the box". This is a wooden box about 3 feet high with a hole cut in the top and a lid over it, which will serve as your toilet during your stay in the interior. It''s not very glamorous, and the smell is always unique in the summer heat, but using the box was an experience we all laughed about and dealt with.
Be sure to bring some long lengths of rope to string up clotheslines to dry out towels, swimsuits, waterlogged clothes, etc on.
