Offers 60 two bedroom and 14 one bedroom apartments. All rooms are fully self contained, although there is no dishwasher so you’ll have to get your hands a bit dirty. The apartments are dark and cool and have a Mediterranean feel. On-site there is a decent swimming pool, cold spa (there are no hot spas in far north Queensland due to health risks), and barbeque area.
The two-bedroom apartments feature a King size bed in the main room and another king-size bed that splits in to two singles. Bathrooms are a reasonable size and have a bath/shower. All rooms have cable TV, are air-conditioned, and have ceiling fans and balconies. Do not drink the tap water anywhere in Far North Queensland as it is infected with guardia, always boil the water or drink bottled water. The windows and sliding doors are not screened so at dusk and dawn ensure your room is shut tight to keep the mossies out.
Under cover parking is available for all guests, which is essential otherwise your car gets very hot left in the sun, and during tropical downpours you can get from the car to your apartment without getting drenched
The resort has easy walking access from the rear of the property to the famous 4 mile beach. Make sure you swim in the patrolled area and during the stinger season Nov-May, swim in the stinger enclosure. Always, always swim in a patrolled area of the beach and heed any warning signs – they are there for a reason!
Guests are provided with a "starter pack" of tea, coffee, sugar and washing up detergent. The laundry is located in the basement and offers free washers and dryers – you will have to supply your own laundry powder or procure some from the onsite vending machine. There is a general store (IGA) a five-minute walk north or a Coles supermarket in town from where you can purchase groceries.
If you don’t feel like cooking there is a popular pizza parlour across the road, and there are plenty of restaurants in town. If you don’t have your own set of wheels, you can hire a bike from the bike shop across the road, flag the local bus for only $1.60 or walk 15 minutes to town, and most of the local tour operators offer free pickup service.
