Hotel Subasio

This is a 1500-year old hotel right in the heart of Assisi. It is literally one minutes'' walk to the Basilica di San Francesco. ~~~~ We stayed in Room 64, which was one of 3 rooms which open out onto a private terrace from the bedroom and bathroom windows. The view was GORGEOUS!! We could see the entire valley of Assisi. ~~~~ Some of the rooms have views of the valley but no balconies. I am not sure of the price per night since we were on a pre-arranged tour. However, if you want to splurge for a nice, relaxing place to stay, make it here in Assisi. ~~~~ The hotel also had a great restaurant which we ate dinner and breakfast in. There was a bar as well. The rooms were spartan, but very clean and the medieval atmosphere of the inn more than makes up for it. The view alone is worth the expense here!
