Anfiteatro Romano
This one star hotel is my favorite place to stay in Assisi. It is near the piazza where the police station is located. Parking is available.
There is a lovely courtyard where you can sit and enjoy a glass of wine. Look at the grapevines covering the ancient curved walls encircling the hotel. It is then that you realize that you are sitting in the middle of an ancient Roman ampitheatre.
The restaurant serves good, basic food. The spaghetti carbonara was some of the best I''ve had in Italy.
