Apparently rooms are getting more expensive every day! we got a double room for 45.000 TSH which is pretty much for what they actually offer... Rooms are very basic and not very clean! Our had a balcony (that was impossible to use), a TV (not working) and a noisy AC... They say they increased rates because now breakfast is included. Well, what they offer is a boiled egg, two tiny tiny pieces of bread and a coffee. when we wanted an extra cup of coffee and a banana they told us we had to pay!
On the other hand is a good place to stay if you're heading straight to Zanzibar in the morning as it's very close to the port (5 min walking).
Anyway if you're travelling budget this is NOT the place to stay (I've talked to couple of people who slept at the YMCA and they told me they have dorms for a very very competitive and fair rate!)
