Overlooking Budd Bay Inlet, the front steps of (formerly the Harbinger Inn) was the late-summer site of my good friend's wedding. The proprietress was warm and welcoming, extremely organized, and helped to provide a lovely day. The front suites have porches leading out to a terrific panoramic view of the sailboats on the Sound (good for walking off pre-wedding nerves). The grounds are well-maintained and behind the house is a pretty moat-like pond. Lit with a bevy of floating candles and fragrant peonies, it seemed otherworldly.

The location is far enough out of town to be quiet and restful, but close enough for an easy walk to both downtown & also Priest Point Park (maybe 1/2 mile to each). The park has great trails lush with enormous trees and moss, with both easy and more difficult levels that eventually lead down to the beach. The hike is well worth the effort on a sunny afternoon. You're also a quick 20 minute walk from both the Olympia Farmer's Market and Batdorf & Bronson Coffee Roasters.

Prices range from $150 to $475.
