Best Things Nearby:
The location of this resort is wonderful. It is right across a new mall, and the city is constructing a boulevard right there in front of the resort. It will look nice when it's finished. Transportation is very accessible. Little white vans drive by constantly, honking the horn, and for only 1 Egyptian Pound, they will take you up to downtown or around the city. Make sure you have the correct change. We went to the bank and changed some bills into one-pound bills, because sometimes the driver will not give you the change. Our day trips were arranged by one of the many tour agencies in town. Right in the mall across from the resort there is one. The lady gave a nice presentation about the places and gave us a reasonable price. She even said if we find a cheaper or better price she would give you the money back. Be careful with these tour agencies some of them charge you too much money. You need to shop around. I recommend the safari trip with the four wheel motorcycles, diving, snorkeling in Al Sharm al Nawa you see the little fish and you can feed them with bread, day trip to Luxor, 1001 night show, they also have trips to Cairo but it is too far away you get back to Hurghada very late and most of the time you spend it on the road. Better to stay a couple of days in Cairo before you come to Hurghada. We did it on our own and got to see Cairo also.
Best Things About the Resort:
The swimming pool is good, but you also could use the big, nice swimming pool and the facilities from the Aqua Park Resort -- Sindbad Family Resort and Aqua Park Resort are managed by the same people. Water Aerobics was really cool! Also, we made arrangements with the resort for our diving trips. Aqua Park Resort has nice restaurants about three restaurants; they were buffet-style, and the days we ate there, the food was very varied.
Resort Experience:
The resort is just okay. Laundry was not available at all; we tried to find a laundry mat, but there are none in Hurghada, so make sure you bring all the clothes you need.
Kitchen utensils were very scary to use. Some of them were rusty, and the cooking pans were old, beat-up, and deformed. Showers and bedrooms were very small. The bedrooms only have double beds, so my two boys had to sleep on the same bed, because the sofa bed in the living room was broken. Most of the furniture was not in good condition. They were repainted, and the sofas had holes, and the cushions were much too overused. I checked another unit, and it was in worse shape. We had to call them to fix the beds; for some reason, the legs of the bed were not even. They tried to do their best, but sometimes things are not repairable anymore. They cleaned and arranged our unit every day. Sometimes towels were not available; we were four in our unit, and by the end of the day, when we come back to our unit, we found only two towels.
If you find something that needed to be cleaned, they immediately clean it or fix it for you. This resort needs maintenance. I am glad we stayed most of the day outside on field trips and went only to sleep. Still, though, it was my first trip to Hurghada, and I would like to go back. Hurghada is beautiful! I highly recommend it and will try to explore another resort.
