The resort sits on a hill overlooking the main village. Most restaurants and shopping is just a few streets away.
Best Things About the Resort:
Nice room with a complete kitchen and TV with VCR (free movies available in the office). Office staff is friendly and the office also has a very friendly dog to greet you.
Resort Experience:
The resort is an old mansion converted into different units. We got to view a number of the units and they are all unique with special alcoves, fireplaces, bay windows, and all the interesting features you would expect in an old mansion. One unit even has a special loft for children with a spiral staircase in the unit. Laundry is in the basement. The resort sits on a rolling hillside, and has a huge porch and several patios. It is set far back from the road. Our unit came with all linens and cookware, full kitchen, and everything we could want. The resort is small and does not have planned activities, but there is plenty to do in Great Barrington.

Stockbridge, Lenox, and South Lee all offer museums and historic sites. The Hancock Shaker Village is an intriguing look into New England's past.
Best Things About the Resort:
Only seven units in the whole house, which is a beautiful, large grey and white New England-style "mansion" with cranberry coloured trim. Suites are decorated in typical Victorian style and colour with high ceilings and lush furnishings. The location is central to all of the inland Massachusetts areas of interest, and easily accessible from southern Ontario or New York state.
Resort Experience:
You're on your own when you visit Stonegate in the winter. You get the key to your suite, but there are no on-site activities or daily on-site staff. Having said that, it's a wonderful adult retreat, if you need to get away from the maddening crowd. The units are cosy and lush, the location quiet, and the surrounding town and scenery, serene and beautiful.

Nice setting.
Resort Experience:
This is an old mansion that has been made into a timeshare. The units were spacious and well decorated. However, due to its age, the doors don't close correctly, and the floors have settled noticably. There are no "on-site" employees after hours or on weekends. If you have a problem, you call someone on their cell phone. We did not have a problem, so I don't know the time frame for responses.

Quaint, historic, and beautiful surroundings.
Resort Experience:
Relaxing, quiet neighborhood in the heart of the Berkshire Mountains - a resort for all seasons. Even if you can only get away for a weekend, it is worth the trip. Most of the time I have visited this resort, I have been with adults. However, the children came for a ski getaway, and we had a great time and still had lots to do with some great "easy" family ski areas.
