Resort Experience:
I have been to Felipe 15 times, but this trip we traded in our tents on the beach for a week at the San Felipe Marina Resort. The resort is located two miles south of town and if you've camped in Felipe before this resort is a slice of heaven, it's going to make it hard to go back to camping. In comparison to resorts in other areas it may be well below average, but for the small town of San Felipe it can't be beat. Instead of waking up between 6 and 7am to the scorching sun and the whining of quads racing up and down the beach, you're in an air conditioned room with a shower and toilet that actually work which is something most campsites seem to struggle with.

Our unit was a one bedroom with a half kitchen which was for all intents and purposes a full kitchen. The living room had an L shaped couch which could sleep 2 additional people. There was a patio with a view of the ocean and the beach was only steps away.

There is a small indoor pool and an outdoor pool which faces the bay. There were tennis courts, but why anyone would play tennis in that heat is beyond me. The pina colada truck will pull up to your palapa on the beach and our entire group highly recommends them.

We ate at the restaurant in the resort twice, and while it is not outstanding, it does rate a return trip. I do recommend the chipotle fish.

We had a suite which was roomy and clean. We cooked most of our own meals and found the cooking utensils scarce. We had purchased a George Foreman Grill before leaving home and were glad we had brought it along. Beds were clean and comfortable.
