Cameron Cove

Camaron Cove was very nice. The units are very spacious, comfortable, and very well maintained. Although our unit was at the front of the building, we still had a good view of the beach and pool area. The staff was very helpful. The beds were very comfy, and the TVs worked well and had a large selection of local channels. We were very busy the entire week we were there, so we did not participate in any of the resort activities. The only things we could say the unit lacked was a TV in the second bedroom, an iron, and laundry facilities in each unit. The building does have a laundry area, but the machines were old and the area was very hot. There is a coin-laundry directly across the street that was much more convenient.

Best Things Nearby:
Everything you need is close, at least within driving distance. There is a convience store almost right across the street. Restaurants are within a mile or so.

Best Things About the Resort:
This was a very clean, updated facility. The two bedrooms offered enough space for six guys. Of course we didn't really care where we slept and didn't spend much time in the room! The resort has a decent size pool and a nice hot tub!

Resort Experience:
The resort is RIGHT ON THE BEACH! It was nice to come out of the resort and literally put your toes right in the sand! With most resorts you have to walk a little ways, but not Camaron Cove! Our unit was well taken care of too--very clean and up dated!

Best Things Nearby:
Ther is a beach right out the door. The area offers great charter, shore, and pier fishing as well as Busch Gardens in nearby Tampa.

Best Things About the Resort:
The unit size and layout was super. All units also offer a great view of the Gulf of Mexico.

Resort Experience:
Cameron Cove was a quite low flash place - but had much to offer. The unit we stayed in was clean and well-maintained. They has a standard swimming pool, which was more than enough for our boys to enjoy. The hot tub was nearby and was clean and warm. There were outside tables and a party hut for guest use as well as gas grill ready go.

We really enjoyed our time there - the beach was nice and less crowded than some in the area. The area in general was just perfect - it was set between the hot spots of St. Petes and Clearwater and really held more charm than either. You were close to two causeways for easy access to Tampa - getting around was quick and easy from this location.

This is a place we will plan to visit again.

Great place to stay!!! Accommodations were very roomy and units were in good repair. The only complaint I could find (and I can be pretty picky) was the comfort of the sofa & loveseat (both were sleepers) and the dust on the bottom of two pedestal chairs. Unit had a great view of the Gulf of Mexico - and the best part is "all" units have a gulf view (some full some partial - we had a partial but it was still better than most). The swimming pool was a pool but was clean and warm for swimming (our boys enjoyed it) and the hot tub was warm and clean. There was an outside hut with stool perfect for a party and gas grills ready for use (which we took advantage of on several nights). I would highly recommend Cameron Cove to anyone considering a stay on the gulf - it is not very flashy but was very comfortable and had lots to offer.

Best Things Nearby:
Only a 15 minute drive north to activities at Clearwater Beach and about a 15 minute drive south to Johns Pass for great shopping. Petersburg Beach.

Best Things About the Resort:
Nice and roomy and all have a gulf view.

Resort Experience:
Camaron Cove is a 40 unit complex, all having a nice view of the gulf. The units are quite large and nicely furnished. They are located in a more residential area, a quiet atmosphere, so they are very relaxing. Located right on the beach. The beach is good for walking and finding shells. The only negative is that there is one laundry area which has only 4 washers and 4 dryers for 40 units.
