The price given is an estimate from what it used to be and needs checking. This is an imposing building with rooms to match. My daughter was with us and we had something like a suite with two bedrooms opening off a sitting room. This, plus the fact that the hotel appears in several guide books, makes it fairly expensive but at least you get something for the money. I do not know what more to say about the accommodation in a place that had it spot on.
Le Castel is also a restaurant with a dining room which is really something. Unfortunately there was a terrific thunderstorm during the meal and I am afraid my recollection of this obscures that of the meal though I know we were well satisfied. The little town is very pretty and there is a parklike area at the top looking out over a steep high bank to a massive bend in the river. What seeemed even more important than the view that day was the delicious shade of the trees.
