Hilton Hua Hin Resort and Spa

Hilton Hua Hin Resort and Spa

We had a room with quite a view of the beach area and other neighboring bungalow resorts.

A very open and Japanese inspired style room - with a very hard bed. The bathroom was accomodating, with bath and shower, gowns, and slippers. And the usual air-conditioning, TV, mini-bar (free bottled water everyday), and electronic in-room safe.

The facilities included a small gym, tennis courts, and squash courts. We rented racquets and played a round of squash. I guess the courts weren''t used too often as someone actually started to film us playing.

We also received massage discounts upon checking in, which we took advantage of. Two hours of wondering whether the tiny Thai masseuse was trying to dismember me or tickle me silly. It was certainly refreshing after a hard squash match the day before.

We dined at the hotel''s restuarant. Enjoying some typical Thai preset menus. The Tom Yam Goong could''ve been better.

On the same level as the gym and squash/tennis courts was a recreational area. Where one could play pool, backgammon and a range of other board games.

Otherwise, you could lounge about the child friendly, no diving poolside.

This is a five star hotel located on the beach with a huge pool complete with swim up bar. There are two excellent resaturants (chinese and italian) as well as a somewhat elegant coffee shop serving many varities of food - including some excellent Thai choices. The rooms are clean and spacious - some more so than others - I was lucky enough to be upgraded to a two room suite with a balcony about 40 feet long overlooking the sea. This consisted of a large dining room area (small kitchen), flowing into the living room. Separate bedroom with huge dressing area and bathroom with separate shower, bidet and tub. All rooms have a balcony facing the sea-mine was huge and allowed me to look out over the sea at any time, enjoy breakfast in elegant luxury, and see the fishing boats go off and return (regular rooms have a smaller balcony - but large enough for a small table and chairs). There are all the specialities one would expect from a 5 star hotel including a very nice spa that I look forward to trying next time.
