We arrived in Luxembourg via train from Bruges, Belgium, and were delighted to find that our hotel was only 200m from the train station - out the front door, and straight down the street, on the right. The Mercure Luxembourg is also only a short walk from the old city. There’s a bright, welcoming lobby, a small courtyard, and 68 rooms, 24 of which are non-smoking, on five floors. Rooms have TVs, phones, radios, and in-suite bathrooms with a toilet and shower. There is a private garage if you have a rental car, a bar, a lounge, and a small terrace. Breakfast was included and was more than adequate, served in a sunny and cheerful breakfast room.
Only drawback? Our room was off the street and several young men partied, argued, and yelled way into the wee hours before dawn.
