Best Things Nearby:
The town of Stratford was literally a 5 minute walk from the marina, so lots of sites to visit. Warwick Castle was also on our itinerary and the city of Warwick is well worth a day's visit.

Best Things About the Resort:
The canal was relaxing, unambitious, and a great way to relax while seeing both tourist sites and the countryside. Met a lot of British informally.

Resort Experience:
Checking onto the boat was intimidating; we were responsible for "driving" it and getting through the locks for the coming week, filing up with water daily to ensure hot showers etc. Turned out to be a piece of cake!

Everyone on the river and canal was informal and friendly, gave recommendations as to places to tie up overnight or pubs and local restaurants for meals. The kitchen and bedrooms, as well as the bathroom facilities, were very nice. The sleeping facilities for the fifth person were awful! Basically, she had to sleep on the kitchen bench. We were told accommodations for six meant "2 small children" and we were all adults. If taking all adults, inform the marina ahead so that one of the bigger boats is available. The boat is 65' feet long but only 6.5' wide.

We all feel we had an unforgettable experience! I would do it again.
