Piccolo Hotel Etruria

This hotel has a very good location in that it is located just a block from the Piazza del Campo. Staff were friendly and helpful and the price at 86 Euro was reasonable. A well run, clean and functional hotel as close to the Piazza as you can get, but having said that the hotel is itself nothing special. Room was clean and a good size. The location is a plus but could be noisy because of this. They serve breakfast for an additional 5 Euro but went around the corner to a cafe for a pastry and a cappuccino instead.

By far the nicest place I stayed in Italy on this trip. Very friendly, extremely clean and comfortable, and located just a block from the Piazza del Campo. Reasonably priced as well. The management was very helpful. Breakfast was served downstairs in a small dining area. My rate was for a single, but the bed was a double bed. The bathroom sparkled (my room had a shared bathroom just across the hall). Can''t say enough good things about it. Unfortunately, I cannot give any details on the breakfast they serve, I never ate there, but the price of the room is worth it without it. See Hotel Siena for more.

This hotel SEEMED like a terrific find since it had a great location (right next to Piazza del Campo) and the price was very inexpensive for the area ($70. for a double with a private and breakfast). The room was a good size, clean and even had a TV. The first night there we were awakened at 2am, by a bunch of drunks who were hanging out in the street, singing and playing guitars. This lasted until a rainstorm washed the singing rats out. In the morning we went down for our breakfast, which was day old hot dog rolls (no kidding) and WARM orange juice. The next night there was more annoying serenading that lasted for hours and made us so angry that we ended up yelling out our window. How many times can a person listen to, 'I Wanna Hold Your Hand' in Italian! As luck would have it there was no rain that night and we had to listen to this noise until 5am! At least we had those hot dog rolls to look forward to at breakfast!
