Bumbelberry Inn

It is clean, inexpensive, and safe. That is all I care about when staying in hotels. It also has the basic amenities, such as cable, coffee, an ice machine outside, and free Wifi, but we could not get it to work well, and when we did, it was very slow, slower than dial-up.

The room is typical, with two double beds with flowery bed sheets, darker carpet, and a somewhat dated but workable television. There was no smell of smoke, which is a very important detail.
The bathroom was clean and of a good size, maybe 8 feet by 8 feet. At night it could be dry, so I would advise people to put a wet towel on the heater.

The location to the park was incredible, right at the foot hills. There were others that were closer, but for the price they were offering and the price we got, 2 nights for a total of $98, their winter special, ours beat them. Check the site out before you book. Although I think that if you go earlier they have dinner shows in the lounge, when we went, the lounge was not open. We ate at the nearby Pioneer Inn for breakfast. We only saw about five cars for the whole place, which has close to 100 rooms, I think.

I would recommend this to anyone who needs a place and doesn't want to spend too much. Remember, you are there for the park, not the hotel.

Springdale is a small sliver of privately owned land sitting at the entrance of Zion Canyon. While the site is not as impressive as Zion Lodge, it is nevertheless a spectacular setting, and pretty much every motel in town offers some great views from the rooms.

Pros: They offer low off-season rates. It is quiet and far back from the highway and offers nicely furnished and comfortable rooms. There are good views, especially from the upper-floor and river-view rooms. It is right in the heart of town, not that that matters much.

Cons: The smallish rooms are a little crowded.
