You walk directly out of resort onto the beach, and can swim very close to the water. Anywhere further up the coast is all Coral Reef, and you have to walk miles to be able to swim.
If you have had enough of the beach come back in and swim in the pool. I am talking about 20-30m walk.

If you have a chance to go on any of the regular tours, definitely do the "Jewel of Fiji"—it's a must, Arts Centre is appealing, too, to see Fiji tradition and culture.
Something that we found amazing and we think should be in other places is that each unit has a book that the previous family/group etc., staying writes their comments of anything—places to go, places to shop, customs, best value for money, etc. We spent hours reading these comments, which ended up being very helpful for our Holiday.
We went to Fiji to get married. Fiji Palms does not do wedding packages, so we went to Hideaway Resort. It was nice for 3 days, however, Fiji Palms was better for the 2 weeks we were there (and a better beach than Hideaway).
The bar is the meeting place, with an excellent staff to assist (Joshua and Solo), serve drinks, offer travel hints, tips on the language, etc.

The great staff was helpful and accommodating, making our stay truly enjoyable. The gardens were superb, well-tended, and lush. We only left the resort for trips arranged by the resort and enjoyed every one of them! BULA!
