This is a beautiful 130 year old house that is located just a few blocks from the Johnson County courthouse.
The house''s white exterior helps retain the original time period when the house was built by a prominent Kansas lawyer, I.O. Pickering. The house is listed on the National Historic Register.
The house has an onion-shape domed veranda and Italiante cupola. The interior rooms are decorated in period antiques which provides a relaxing and inviting atmosphere.
A night''s stay includes a complimentary dinner and breakfast which is served in the formal dining room.
The house includes a library full of historical books, a parlor with a fireplace, and a baby grand piano in the music room that is waiting to be played.
The bedrooms include a queen size bed with a down comforter, robes, private baths, telephone in the room, air conditioning, and snacks. There is in-room coffee or tea, patio and hot tub. There is no smoking which is just fine with us!
This location is about 25 miles from downtown Kansas City, but is close to many of the shopping malls and other activities on the southern side of the city.
