What a wonderful weekend we had at the Lookout! My entire family was in town for my cousin's wedding, and the Inn gave us all a perfect temporary home. 'Butch,' the innkeeper made us all feel incredibly welcome, and it helped that he served up two of the best breakfasts I've ever had! The rooms were decorated in a light, airy, beautiful fashion, with wispy curtains blowing in the morning sea breeze. We woke up in the morning to the sight of the fog lifting off the bay (less than 50 yards away), and wound down after the day's festivities by sitting in the rocking chairs on the expansive porch.
If you don't need 'pre-fabricated' activities to have fun, this is a perfect retreat. Just take a deep breath, and see if you can bring some of the Maine ocean air home with you.
By the way, be sure to say hello to the Inn's mascot. Don't worry, you can miss him!
